I am starting a gaming forum, and I was curious as to what steps I need to go to make my forum secure (something in smf?) or put sitelock on it or anything. Im new to SMF so im unaware of any security feature i may need to enable? Any help would be great, Thanks.

By security, you mean something to keep hackers from busting stuff up? Or like anti-spam mods? Or are you referring to privacy settings, so only invited people can view the forum?

Then I'd say you're in pretty good shape, unless you have a lot of other "homegrown" scripts floating around your site, which could be unsecure. SMF by itself is a very secure software.
