Changing Forum Link URL

So the link at the top left and the one that starts the link tree has index.php.

1. Where would I go to change that (I want to make it domain.com/forum instead of domain.com/forum/index.php)?
2. Would that mess up the way the forum and posts works?

Well, everywhere in SMF relies on having index.php in the URL. It *is* possible to remove it, but it tends to cause a lot of other problems with search engines and other users visiting your site.
