Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 2.0.2, while your database is at version 2.0.1. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

Got error 28 from storage engine - occurs when no free disk space left.

Contact your hosting provider as soon as possible.

MrPhil:
Error 28 is "out of space", and your host needs to deal with this. However, you can take the first step by checking your SMF Error Log. It's kept in the database, and if it's huge, it could eat up all your allowed database space. There are other "log" tables which may have grown excessively and need to be trimmed (emptied out). Naturally, if the Error Log is huge, you should be doing something to resolve these errors, else they'll just fill up the log again! Actually, any errors in the log should be rectified on a regular basis -- don't wait for the log to get huge.

Don't worry about "requires an upgrade". That's just a brain fart from SMF that the developers aren't interested in fixing. The 2.0.2 and 2.0.1 database versions are identical.

Here is the response of my HOSTING COMPANY:

Dear Zahida,

As we can see from link you have provided, the issue is related to the 28 storage engine error.
This MySQL error is caused ny insufficient free disk space on the server, but as i have stated before we have a lot of free space for MySQL databases and for temporary files too:
#######################################################
root@buzzsg4 [/]# df -h /var/lib/mysql/baaskcom_smf3/
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2 73G 35G 35G 50% /var
root@buzzsg4 [/]# df -h /tmp
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda7 4.7G 147M 4.3G 4% /tmp
#######################################################

Please provide this information to SMF support team.

*shrug* They're not being very helpful. There's nothing SMF can fix here - it sends a query to MySQL and MySQL returned and said it was out of space, except that SMF has absolutely no control over that and it's still pointing to a misconfiguration on their side.
