OK I need some help switching my forum to a sub domain. When I went to my third party applications and set this forum up, I had it create a folder called “Find a Playmate”. Not knowing that putting the spaces in the name would give me some real headaches.
I have created a sub domain called “Findaplaymate” that I want to move my forum to.
Before I tried to all this I set up a test to make sure it would work before I messed up my live forum.
I created another forum and named the folder “This is good” and then made a sub domain called “Thisisgood” and try switching it over to the sub domain.
When the page loads on “http://Thisisgood.XXXXXXX.com” everything looks perfect, the address up top is the correct domain name as it should be.
When I click on anything on this page like forum it loads the page perfectly except for the address in the address bar reverts back to the original domain name I used when I installed SMF.
“http://www.XXXXXXXXXXX.com/This%20is%20good /index.php?action=forum
Where do I go to change the settings inside the forum and so it will read or operate on the new sub domain.
I found Settings.php and even tried changing the address in there where ever I saw the original domain info to the new sub domain.
Also how does this effect mysql and do I need to make any changes to confirm that it will stay current and not lose any of my databases that I have.
