Ok, thanks.

I'll wait and try again once fully active.

Hi there,

Well, I've tried again and only the 'temporary' links host-ed.net provided work, but still I cannot execute the task install.php to get my SMF up and running.

Please help me.

I've attached screen shots of:

-my confirmation email from Host-ed.net
-the cpanel screen I get taken to through the temporary URL link
-the error notice I get given trying to use the permanent link

What can I do???

Thanks,

Mat

What folder should install.php be in?

it's in the public_ftp currently.

should I be able to browse using this:

http:176.9.105.210:2083/install.php   --- because  I can't!

Does anyone know what I'm talking about here?

Thanks!

Mat

JimM:
All of your forum files should be in public_html.  Some folks even create a folder within public_html for their forum files.  Take another look at the installation information linked in my signature.
