You can indeed, there are three options, Check Boxes, Icons, Don't display.
Check boxes is the default but as it is no use to normal users maybe a global setting to override it would be better. IMHO

Two comments.

Does the theme option only show up for those with moderator powers?  Normal users may be confused by it.

Can the icon view do two icons on two rows?  Makes the page shorter.

Actually, it should be 4 like this: X X X X.  It's using nonbreaking spaces - which means it should *not* break.

But yeah, I agree.  I saw the idea just today in a mod and asked if I could use it.

I can't really make it turn off if you don't have moderators powers because of the testing board.  (situations like it, I mean.)  It could be a permission, but that seems a little much.

It only shows options you can do though... so it should show nothing, in theory, if you can do nothing.
