Why was SMF named SMF?

Zeal reminded me too much of soap... I had voted for Palinola... But SMF was not on the card when I was voting... don't know how I would have gone then.  I like it now... very good.

We had a TON of names going in and out of lists.  At one point we had narrowed it down a lot, then a whole new list of names popped up.  I thought I had the lead with Zeal, but then Joseph came up with his suggestion and people fell in love with it.  The process we went through to pick a name was very weird, because we kept narrowing things down, then new names kept coming in.

How long has it takes to develop SMF and this website? When did the old YabbSE Team started to work on SMF. As far as I can see, such a project can't be written in a few weeks.  :)

It originally started with Unknown's secret project.  Then once 1.5.4 was released we really decided that would become our focus.
