It makes no difference what server you're on. The odds are that the slow-down is mostly that you don't notice it at present since your forum isn't actually that big but it will slow down over time, it is actually inevitable.

It's not even PHP that's under discussion here, it's the way MySQL works in interacting with text data.

The mod's author is technically a part of this forum still, he is only post-banned, but since he is actively working on an SMF rival he won't produce anything for SMF itself directly (though he has mentioned bug fixes etc. in the change notes for the rival)

I didn't tell you what you should want. I told you the problems with what you want, there's a difference. It's still doable but it's a lot of work to do properly.

Sure, you can bodge the crap out of it and make it work but it will only get slower over time, it needs restructuring and changes architecturally to Aeva to do it properly. I never said it was a bad idea in principle, because for your forum it's quite a good idea. It just has a lot more overhead, and I took umbridge that you're essentially telling me that I don't know anything when I do (hint: had you phrased it as a question about performance rather than trying to undermine me, I would have been a lot more receptive)

Then I remember the previous conversations we've had, and I realise that you're just as arrogant as I remember, that what you think must be right even when reality doesn't necessarily agree, eh, shuban?

Why is it that when I choose a PNG as an album thumbnail, the transparent parts of the image are showing in black.

I'm using Chrome, but this happens with all browsers. Is there a fix?
