I recently installed the Aeva mod into my forum and it's now integrated into my forum.

Prior to installing it, I read through the description, and I thought it was a cool
and convenient modification to apply.

Regrettably, now that I see it in use throughout my forum, I notice there is a footer-link
automatically added to the bottom-left line of the page.

While I respect the wishes of the developers, I find this a breach of agreement and
feel justified in wanting to remove it.

Nowhere in the description that I read did it mention it would insert a footer link
on every single page the mod is used.

To me, that is deceptive, and I believe that I have the right to remove it, since that
was not presented to me as part of the deal before downloading and installing.

Now, I know someone people may try to persuade the idea that it would be illegal
to remove their footer, but I believe it's illegal to install that footer without my
prior agreement. I do acknowledge that the mod is free, so it's kind of nice to let
them have a tiny footer, but on EVERY page it's used? That's extreme.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get a premium copy of this mod and have
that footer removed?

Aeva is not officially supported. The limit of support is if I can be bothered and/or know the answer. Which is not nearly as often as it might sound like. And no further development is occurring on Aeva for SMF at all unless something truly huge happens.

You do not have that right in the free version, whether you think you do or not.

Considering it's only on pages it's actually used, as opposed to some mods that put it everywhere in the forum, and that it's showing due credit to the author, I'd say you're getting off quite lightly. As I said, whether you think it's illegal or not to do so, it is without permission of the author.

non-disclosed terms are null.

In the end, as I already said, I think it's a cool and helpful mod. And it's free, so I'm willing
to bear the footer, even though I think one on every page is too much, regardless of what
others have done in the past.

Personally, I'd rather pay the developer 10 bucks, and get it footer-free.

Actually, that's debatable. There's a licence file in the mod, which should have been communicated to you during the installation process - before any installation actually takes place. There is also a copy of the licence available at http://noisen.com/license.php

That's gratitude for you. It's partly that sort of attitude that convinced Nao to stop supporting Aeva development for SMF.
