buymusic.com and other mp3 online music vendors

Just a rant...  >:(

yep...  you've probably heard (unless you've been living under a rock, if so welcome back) they're selling mp3's online because of the lost revenue suffered during the online 'file-sharing' revolution.  What a novel idea since people worldwide were 'stealing' musical content for the purpose of listeing and distributing via the internet.

One question...  If the theft is happening worldwide why is it that these new services are only offered to US citizens.  I can't buy music from buymusic.com because I've tried and they have pegged me as a foriegner via my IP.

I would like to buy mp3's because (a) I don't wanna buy a CD that's crap from top to bottom for one song and (b) I like to burn mixed CD's.  However I cannot support the music I love if the service isn't offered to me.

Tony Reid:
Microsoft are about to launch a similar service in europe ;)

Shadow:
If they'd not put those crappity smacking limits on them and would give me songs I want (such as the instrumental version of Clocks) then yes I'd use it. But as of now they have stupid limits and don't give me the songs I want. It is so much easier just to download it illegally... or get it off a CD from your friend, or kill them. :)

I have never bought a CD and I'll never buy an MP3.  I don't even download music, for that matter.

You don't listen to music!?!? I couldn't do that, I like music so much I even play guitar ;)

I have NEVER downloaded free music, I don't think I would pay to download either though. I like getting the CD Art (book, cover, label on CD, enhanced CD features... etc). But that's me :)
