Just an update to this.  Board does not send emails anymore (New user, or Notifications) And when going to "Admin, Maint, Mail" this loads..  but the "Settings" page gives a server error like it doesn't exist.

any ideas?  this all seems to be connected

I understand you had some sort of malware injected into your site some time back.

Are you sure that all files were "cleaned up" as it were ? Quite possible there are still some remnants that are affecting your forum especially as it used to work fine until a week or so ago ?
