The whole NOSQL thing is cool and all, but I understand that the advantages are in certain areas, not everywhere. What kinds of activities do you expect to see a performance boost?
Also, how widely-deployed are the various systems using this technology and is there a common way to manage the databases? My current understanding is that things are very fragmented and each system has its own method for updates and viewing data.
