Copy and paste

(1/1)

Johnny B:
Every time I try to copy and paste an article from other websites it doesn't paste all the information. I've tried copy, then paste in notepad, then copy from notepad to forum thread. In fact it only posts about 2 sentences. Of course I leave a link to original article for credits if I could ever get the whole article. Tried this with many different websites.

Using latest release 2.02

d1meba.net  is domain

Any suggestions?

MrPhil:
Your other source is either in a different code page (character encoding), or contains Microsoft "Smart Quotes" (if it started out in a Word document). If you think it might contain Smart Quotes (e.g., quote marks are curved, dashes -- are replaced by single long dashes, etc.), try this patch: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=476538.msg3333723#msg3333723

Let us know how it turns out.

P.S. Copying an entire article, even if you give credits for it, is questionable as far as copyright infringements go. It may not be considered "fair use", according to law.
