Differance Between Admin & Global Moderator

HK:
Hello all,
Ok I found another Q? Whats the differance between the Administrator, Global Moderator & Moderator? What Can The Moderators do to The forum to modify? or is it only Admin? how does the Moderator work?
         Thanks

Bouminok:
Moderators and Global Moderators can do what you permit them to through the permission settings, the only difference is that Moderators can only do what you permit them in the board that you permit them, and Gobal Moderators can do what you permit them over your whole forum.

Administrators are like gods, they have access to all the settings.

That's generally what they mean in regards to SMF, although someone might appear with a much cleaner explanation.

Peter Duggan:
To put it in a nutshell, with standard permissions:

A moderator can moderate (edit, move, delete etc.) in specified areas.
A global moderator can moderate your whole SMF.
An administrator has the power to do *anything* (not just moderate) to your whole set-up.

HK:
How do I assign the role of moderator?
