Newbie question: 8: Undefined Index: logged in message

I am new to this forum, and new to IT development, so we will see how this goes.
 There is a log in button on my website that when clicked I get this '8: Undefined index: loggedIn' error message  which I think has something to do with smf.

Is this a common issue? What can I do?

What version of SMF are you using?

I am using SMF 1.1.11

v1.1.11 is VERY old, now. That branch of SMF is on 1.1.16.

A lot of the updates were bug fixes.

I think it might be time for you to upgrade...

Hi: the exact line where the error is:
if(($context['user']['username'] == "chf" || ($_SESSION['loggedIn'] == 1 && !$_GET['action'] == 'login2' ))
