Upgrading 1.1.11 to 2.0.2.
« on: May 28, 2012, 04:25:24 AM »
Hello,

My forum uses a very old version :-[  it's 1.1.11.
I would like to switch to a latest version 2.02.

But, as I attempt to upload the downloaded folder (large version), a message shows that the packet is not valid or damaged.

So the first step already gives me big headache :)

Maybe someone knows what's the solution to this?

Try upload the 2.0.2 upgrade.zip file, than un-zip them on the server. Than run upgrade.php and follow the rest of the steps.

Uploading is the problem. How can I upload the file  to the server? (I'm not good at this!). And then, how do I  un-zip on the server?

A more precise description would help me a lot! thanks.

First step: upload the .zip file NOT the decompressed directory and see if that gives the error. Then we will go from there.

Hello obli,

see if the page Upgrading SMF is of any help.

You cannot use SMF package manager to upload a large upgrade, you have to use your host control panel or an ftp client. ;)
How do I use FTP? / What is FTP?

Aiutateci ad aiutarvi: spiegate bene il vostro problema: no, "non funziona" non è una spiegazione!!
