minor seo tweaks worth it?

I wanted to do a few minor seo tweaks. Mainly title tags (adding "forum" to each forum page, and adding it to post titles as well).
Does anyone know if this will help?

Adding just the word forum everywhere? Waste of effort, may even hurt you more than help you.

ok, that's kind of what i figured. I just want to keep it simple anywya.
