Upgrade from 1.1.16 to 2.0.2 problem

<< < (3/4) > >>

K@:
Well, I'm non-the-wiser.

If your forum is using UTF-8, it seems that $db_character_set = 'utf8'; should work.

Is your forum not set for UTF-8?

What makes things even more curious, is that I just checked my own Settings.php file and I don't even have a "$db_character_set =" entry.

The nearest I can see is $language = 'english_british'; and that looks like it doesn't affect the database.

So, I have to say, I'm totally at a loss.

Sorry an' all that. :(

9A6DQB:
In forum admin, i have option to convert database to UTF8.
Should this resolve my problem?

Or I should change every specific char with croatian char, in database?
Should be some sql code to do it, rather then do it manualy?

Labradoodle-360:
Try converting the database to UTF-8.

9A6DQB:
Well, there is a problem.
My old coding is windows-1250.
In admin panel there is not windows 1250 to utf.
Only 1251(Russian?), 1252 ...

9A6DQB:
I just return backup DB
when I access my forum, in info there is text/html; charset=windows-1250
How to convert to UTF8, without loosing croatian special chars?
If i try to convert from admin panel SMF, i lost all spec chars, probably because there is no option to convert Windows-1250, only 1251,1252...
