Image redirect opens in www.yourdomain.com/redirect-link

Hello, when I redirect an image using HTML it does this:
When I redirect it to www.voteforus.com it opens up in www.mydomain.com/voteforus.com and I want it to open up as www.voteforus.com.
Could you please give me the right code to do this? This is for an IMAGE REDIRECT.
