Topic: Private Messages Rules Setup does not take criteria correctly

Hi

In the Private Messages section I tried to setup a new rule. The requirement is at least one criteria and one action. I put one rule and one action and I get an error saying I need to have 1 criteria and 1 action. Although I did select it...

Now if I choose 2 criteria and 1 action I'm able to save the rule, but when I go to edit it I see that only SECOND criteria is stored...

I guess the function has an issue with first select box for criteria....I examined the function in a PM template, but could not figure it out...

It happens also default theme...

Any ideas?

So, version of SMF? Related mods installed? Anything in the forum error log? Errors in the browser? (What browser?)

SMF version 2.02
No mods
No error log
Browsers:Chrome, Firefox, Safari. no erros there.

Forgot to add that I'm running it locally at the moment, using MAMP. If it matters.

So there's no JavaScript errors in those browsers?

(I can't reproduce this on a fresh setup, though)

I checked before in Chrome for JS errors, only this:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'create' of undefined 
chrome-extension://aonjhmdcgbgikgjapjckfkefpphjpgma/measureIt.js:120

This error comes not only on SMF forum, but different websites so I don't see a connection. Though, I'm not an expert.

I will put forum online in a couple of days, so I will check then. If you got it right, probably it's something local.

The error in that extension could theoretically cause other issues, try disabling it and seeing whether it works after or not.

I tried, but got nothing. That error comes from Chrome apparently since Opera and Firefox show no error, and have the same issue.
I put Forum live and it's the same. So issue is not local. Could it be a Mac OS issue?
Is there anything else I can do or I just have to pray my members will not experience the same?

Good thinking. I was perplexed enough not to think to check that.

The problem is only with sender's name! Everything else works just fine.
It seems it does not recognize sender's name as set criteria. If I combine it with others, it does not take it. If I put it alone, it says I have to choose at least one criteria.

Weird...

I can reproduce it, but only if the username I set doesn't exist.
In that case, probably a more useful message could be used...
