User customized smiley selection?

(1/2) > >>

ChalkCat:
I have 483 smileys on my forum of four members (including myself).  25% of my membership would like to be able to customize his own smiley selection, so that on his post-form/popup he will only see, for example, 100 of his favourite smileys, without affecting any other members' selection choices, or his abilities to see other smileys in posts.  Is there any way this is possible?  Should I request a mod?

Thank you  :)

FrizzleFried:
I've seen nothing like that but I do use the TABBED SMILEYS mod... that may be something for you to take a gander at... you can then break down the smileys by "type" and put them in individual tabs.

K@:
You can have different smiley sets, of course.

But, you have to make sure that each set contains the same filenames and codes, otherwise some will see smilies and some won't.

Or, you can remove all the smilies and give 'em a link to my site! ;)

ChalkCat:
Thanks for the responses, sorry for the delay from this end...

The tabbed smileys mod might have helped him but when I installed it we didn't like it.  The rest of us prefer to see them all together in one place.  Different smiley sets won't work because he still wants to see the same smileys everybody else uses.  He just wants to limit his own selection of smileys to the few that he uses, rather than seeing them all every time he clicks on the popup.  If he were able to customize the smileys that show on his own post form that would help, but I don't want to change what everybody sees on the post form smileys just to accommodate one member.  Also he will probably still want access to more smileys than can be practically squeezed onto the post form.

I have already put all the smileys into a logical order, with similar smileys grouped together and the smileys holding signs are in strict alphabetical order  ;) but this one member still just finds it too many to see on his screen in one go.

I don't imagine there's any way of doing it though, so I may suggest he just makes a note of the codes for the smileys he likes and then he won't have to look at all  :P

K@:
Why not get him to take a note of the smiley codes he uses, so that he can just copy/paste those?

With four-hundred-odd smilies, I bet the popup takes ages to load. :(
