[I'm looking for a mod which you can create 301 redirects with from within the admin. That would be a lot easier than the normal .htaccess option in my opinion. As old topics or spam topics are deleted, search engines en users have to know where that can find a working URL with related information on the page. A 404 not found page is not very useful, so why not create a 301 redirect to the most appropriate page.]

Description
[After downloading and installing this "301 redirection" mod, we can create simple 301 redirects from within our SMF forum admin section. We can create many of them in a short amount of time, because we don't have to rumble with .htaccess files, but we can just make them from within SMF itself. It's a lot easier and you don't have to leave your SMF forum for it. The search engines are happier and the users are also having a great time, because we redirect them to a working and correct URL instead of showing them a 404 not found page. Because it becomes a lot easier to make 301 redirects from the old URL to the new URL, more admins are going to spend some time doing that to keep their forum healthy.]

[Option to create a single 301 redirect from 1 page to another. Option to delete existing redirects. It has to work with all types of URL's]

Yes, a simple, small mod.

There is no way to do a simple small mod to do what you're asking. Any mod will be large and complicated.
