Add banner in footer

I need to ad a banner below Page Load. It has to be center on the site.

Any newbie guides how to do it manual and where to put it in the index.template?

there are a few advert mods which allow you to define spaces and do this... there is also the global header/footer mod...

finally, if you understand php and html at all, you can find the <div id="footer_section"> in index.template.php

I have tried different places in the index but cant find the right place . So if you could tell me the right spot I would be happy. It has to below all other stuff on the site.

Every times it gives me a < error.

It would seem that you don't....   you can't just randomly add code in a php file. it has to be included within an echo statement
