Reloading 2.0.2
Ytry2:
I have been running SMF for 6 month now. In the last few days something has been compromising the index.php and the htaccess file in the attachments directory with redirects.
My question is this,
1) is there a simple way to fix this or
2) Should I back up the database, delete the files and reload 2.0.2.
a. if so how do I import my users, forum, messages etc?
Thanks for your help
K@:
Have a look at some of the php files, particularly index.php and Settings.php.
The very first line should be:
<?php
Just that and nothing else, at all.
If they're not like that, you have problems. :(
Ytry2:
We on all but the main index.php they were not blank. I blanked them out, but that would be to easy right?
what is your suggestion?
BTW thank for the welcome been a stressful day lol
K@:
You've had a code injection, by the sound of it... :(
I don't suppose you have a recent backup that you could restore, do you?
If not, this is gonna be a bit laborious...
What you'll need to do, is get the large upgrade, from here:
http://download.simplemachines.org/index.php?thanks;filename=smf_2-0-2_upgrade.zip
Dearchive it, on your computer. Then, upload everything except Upgrade.php to your site, overwriting what you have, now.
Problem is, that won't clean-out any crap in Settings.php. You'll have to do that, yourself.
Once done, you'll have a virgin forum, pretty-well. All your mods will still be in "Packages", they'll just need to be reapplied.
You might want to tell your host about this, too, coz someone must've got access, somehow, to do that crap to you. :(
You could go through each file, manually. But, that's gonna take you AGES! :(

Thanks. i will report back my progress - going to be a fun night *lol*
have a great one!
