I only wish I could make a similar technical argument for the amount of stuff in the log_comments table, as I see it there is no reason for doing that, it's not like you're loading the data as part of a bootstrap for something else.

In fact it's specifically written into the code to actually cache the questions, simply because that table could be huge.

I'd have used custom_fields in case.
