I am very new and search everywhere but can't seem to find the answer to this simple question.

How do I make SMF the main page of domain?


I just installed a new forum in  //www.deitywars.net/smf

How do I make this the main page.

When I type //www.deitywars.net  I want the the forum to come up instead of index of/

You could just add a 301 redirect to the /smf or you could move all of the contents of the /smf directory to /public_html and use repair_settings.php.

Is there any other alternatives?  I got some content in the forum already don't want to move it.  Redirecting some how affects my SEO

This also keeps things clean and frees up your root folder for other things if you change your mind later on.

I don't think a redirect effects SEO.
I do the redirect as stated above and our SEO is just fine. :)
