How do I make SMF the main page of domain?

Exactly, thus my comment. Why not add a 301 redirect to keep the SEO, then consider if he wants to move the actual contents to the root.

Well it links to a test forum with 1 post if thats much in the line of SEO but yes your right a 301 redirect is the most efficient but also theres a few ways it can be done via server side or htaccess ect so he needs to decide that really.

nightbre wins. Looking at the site (which I didn't do and should have). You would be much better off moving your stuff now and not caring about the /smf folder. There's nothing there at the moment to care about. I would simply move the smf folder to the root and use the repair_settings utility to fix things up. Theory, meet reality. Reality wins. There's nothing to preserve in SEO world. Just fix it now and look to the future.
What is repair_settings.php?
