some errors while installing
jason490:
Hello All,
I am getting the following errors after install, at the top of the page I get,
Warning: session_start(): open(/tmp\sess_fc243af603b1e7dceaf6185f1392fe8b, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in c:\program files\apache group\apache\htdocs\smf\index.php on line 94
and at the bottom of the page I get these errors,
Warning: Unknown(): open(/tmp\sess_fc243af603b1e7dceaf6185f1392fe8b, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in Unknown on line 0
Warning: Unknown(): Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0
Any help on what to do would be greatly appreciated, thanks again

Homie... it has nothing to do with chmods... please don't post replies unless you know what the problem is and how to fix it.
If you are your own host you need to open php.ini and change the session.save_path to be a valid directory.
If you are not your own host, you will need to contact them and ask them to fix the session.save_path in php.ini to point to a valid directory.
This is php related... and is nothing fixable by or in SMF.
jason490:
Chris,
What the heck are you talking about? homie? and chmods? I never posted anything like that. Thanks for the answer though, lol ???

oh sorry,
Thought I had offended someone, lol. I tried editing my php.ini file to show the tmp directory, but still no luck. I am using windows server 2003. Not sure what to put.
