New to SMF - assistance/advice sought on transfer from phpbb3 to smf V2.0.2

Hi all

I currently have a forum running on PHPbb3 however I have had issues with the portal amongst other issues for a long time now and to fair spend most of my time trying to sort  things out. I have been checking out smf and it seems better suited to our needs and  soI  would like  to transfer my forum over to smf.

My hosting package offers a  single click  setup of the smf forum v2.0.2 so  basically i just need to transfer my memberlist and posts over to smf forum, the problem is I am really new to all of this so any assistance is appreciated as well as advice.

phpBB is a bit of a pain converting to another forum software.
Did you disable the Modifications, themes etc?

what do you  mean?

At present i've done nothing other than install smf on the server also via my host cp

I have not attempted anything as of yet as i simply do not know where to start.

I want to to transfer memberlists and posts from my phpbb3 frum over to my new smf v2.02 forum.


where does a newbie start?
