Customizing SMF > SMF Coding Discussion
Boards submenu
Ascot:
Hi :)
is there a way to make an automatic boards submenu under home button of navigation bar?
This would be similar as board jump but more visible and available in all sections of my forum (not only inside the forums).
Guess the code must be similar with some modifications, but i don't know enough php for doing myself.
If someone can help me, thanks in advance.
Arantor:
Unfortunately the code is quite different, the quick jump doesn't immediately load all the time, only when you actually click on it.
The problem with doing it automatically is the performance hit it adds to your forum unless you hard-core the list of boards into the menu.

You mean i have to do it manually ?
In that case, would be possible to put quick jump in overall header or something else ?
Arantor:
Either do it manually or make things slower.
You could probably more the jumpto further up (I'm sure there's a mod for it) but when we discussed this elsewhere, most people didn't even really use it, even if it was made more prominent for them (much as you want to do)
Ascot:
it's a shame since it's a very good and useful tool.
Thanks for your answer, i'll keep on search of ways to improve my forum navigation.
