Page views at start of the month

Has anyone else noticed the huge increase (about 4 times the normal) in page views on their forum for one particular day at the start of each month?
I have had this  three times 1st of the month and two 3rd of the month over the last five months.

The only explanation I can think of is that the search engine bots do a thorough crawl at the begininng of the month.
Any ideas anyone?

Check your server stats, they should identify the search engines.
