The mean words are not entirely inappropriate. The trouble is, it's all too easy to write crap code in server-side scripting languages.

True in nearly any language. Easier in php since it is very forgiving.

PHP, frankly, is a mess because it tries to keep on going when it would probably be better to just stop...
