Added something to "Minimum requirements", on the ol' wiki.
Illori:
it is a discussion ;) and those are mostly requirements to install not use smf from what i can tell, although the browser listing is what we "support".
K@:
The two should be synonymous.
As I said, the requirements should be for installation AND use, really.
But, until a decision is made, which could take months, knowing this place, I'm butting out. :)

Not true, mods have nothing to do with it really, and the percentage of cases where people will have ownership of everything is wrong IMO.
There are a lot of hosts out there, that have setup their server so that any file created or uploaded through apache will be owned by apache instead of the account owner.
This is not necessarily a problem, but it causes trouble when people do not know what this means and how to work around it.
By the way, I would add the mod_security thing to the recommendations - but would leave out everything about ownerships, only because I believe mentioning them would only mean us having to explain people what it actually means... over and over again...
K@:
Apparently, that section's down to the devs. So, I'm gonna leave well alone.
AngelinaBelle:
I think the mod_security recommendation is a good one (though not all forum owners have that choice).
The one about file ownership depends on how the web host has set things up, securitywise.
Explaining all of those issues would take a separate wiki article, I think.
I think we get the best explanations of these things from people with hosting experience.
