1.1.16 update to newes't up-grade. PLEASE help

 I hope you don't think I'm stupid for asking !
I am using 1.1.16  and would like to up-grade to 2.5.0 or the new'est release.
 I looked at some of the directions for doing this, but even at that it looks like some of it just might be over my head.
 I gotta tell you I'm afraid to do it ! Seems like everytime I try to make things better, it just gets worse.
 I'm using 1.1.16
Windows Explorer 8
Windows XP
Frontpage
www.indianainfo.net

Please help, I need advice and maybe better instructions.

(Your mods and themes won't work. There may be updated versions, though. Best to delete the ones you have, from the server, after you upgrade)

Not sure what FrontPage has to do with it, though. ;)

Some folk still use FrontPage to manage their websites as it has a built in FTP client. Though I would highly recommend Filezilla.
