Post-based Membergroups borked
(1/1)
fuchsdh:
So my site is running 2.0.2. I wanted to create a group of "ranks" for posting, so I go to membergroups.
For whatever reason (couldn't find any documentation on the wiki) there's a blank membergroup that I cannot delete. I added my own groups under that, and some of them would properly migrate (Once I created a 500post group, the relevant accounts moved from the 0 post group to the 500 post), but then they wouldn't go to the next higher post groups despite meeting qualifications. I tried to delete them and recreate, but that only succeeded in ultimately making the post group identifier in the forum disappear. Now, most people (but not all the members) are shoved into the blank membergroup I cannot delete.
Attached below: Some of the groups I'm trying to create, and the mystery group that can't be deleted. (Note: originally the 0-post members were properly going into a custom 0 postgroup, but then they ended up drifting into the default(?) group up top.
I have no idea what's the issue.

The blank membergroup that you can't delete, is "Newbie".
For reasons that I've never understood, you HAVE to have at least one post-count group, with SMF, as I explained, when I wrote this:
http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Membergroups
You can, however, change it's name to whatever you want to. Looking at your screeny, you might want to change it to "Rookie".
If the names don't appear, correctly, try using the SMF default theme.
