Hi,
I just started a new forum  ;) and I created a index.php file to redirect from mysite to mysite/forum.  It is working but it is showing ".../forum/index.php?wwwRedirect" in the browse.  Why?

why not use .htaccess to redirect or create redirection via cpanel?

This happens because your forum url has www. in it.  if you don't have subdomain independent cookies enabled, http://website.com and http://www.website.com are counted as seperate subdomains and the cookies wont work.

the wwwredirect detects this and corrects it and diverts the user to www.sitename.com
