upgrade 1.1.4 to 2.0 trashes apache

(1/3) > >>

babylon:
ok,

i expected maby a tiny thing but this was realy unexpected.
I have a copy of my 1.1.4 running locally on xampp.
Before the upgrade i uninstalled any mod i had and even put the original 1.1.4 files on top to make sure all was clean..
The forum worked,no problems..

Then i put all the "folders" of the 2.0 in the forum folder..
All was overwritten.

But without even putting the root files in there i got:

Fatal error: Function name must be a string in C:\xampp\htdocs\forum\Sources\Load.php on line 144

So when i put in the root files and refreshd it trashed apache to close down..
It did that every time...
And i have no clue why....

JimM:
I can't say much for apache but if you had the 1.1.4 running fine, then unzipped and copied the 2.0 Beta 3 files to the same directory and then pointed your browser to upgrade.php it should work just fine.  That's the way I did it and I now have 2.0 Beta 3 running on my local machine for testing.

Oldiesmann:
Line 144 of Load.php (in SMF 2.0) is a call to $smcFunc['db_query']. The fact that this isn't defined indicates that Sources/Subs-Db-mysql.php didn't get uploaded properly. Make absolutely sure that all the 2.0 files got uploaded. I'm not sure what you mean by "root files".

Well i dont agree.... ;)
I have full copies so i can try a thousand times if i want...

I just started with a new copy....
By only putting the SOURCES folder in the root gives me the error :

Fatal error: Function name must be a string in C:\xampp\htdocs\forum\Sources\Load.php on line 144

babylon:
@Oldiesmann , with root files i mean files like index.php , settings,SSI,subscriptions.php  etc..

and with only the replaced folder SOURCES i received the error as described above..

and when i replaced the index.php file in the root with the 2.0 one it trashed apache...

what happens is that my browser doesnt show the forum anymore.
i get the firefox the error that connection is reinitialized but nothing happens.
the second time i refresh it closes apache.

and btw...this is local so there is no "uploading" for me as i just replace folders.
