SMF 2.0 Beta 3 Public Database Connection Problem
(1/1)
SwapsRulez:
Hi there.
I have my forum installed at
http://www.project-bb.org/
I have installed SMF 2.0 Beta 3 Public & installed the below theme
http://www.dzinerstudio.com/demo/index.php?theme=6
Also i hava about 50 users & about 500 posts. All the things are too much important for me.
But when i go to my site, it shows me the following error.
--- Quote ---Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
--- End quote ---
I have taken the full site htdocs backup in a folder in my computer & also exported the database which SMF was using from the phpmyadmin in a ZIP file & also saved it in the local computer.
But though i have both the backups, i want my site to be working with the same backup.
So how do i make it working like previously.
Should i install the SMF again & then import the database in the smf database from phpmyadmin.
Or is there any way to point my current backup to the another database.
means.
1. I'll copy the site backup of htdocs.
2. Will create a new database from phpmyadmin.
3. Will restore the database backup in the newly created database.
4. Point my this installation to the new database.
Waiting for your replies guys. Thanks in advance.... :) :) :)
Kindred:
I'm not quite sure what you are asking for...
are you asking to downgrade to 1.1.4 or to re-install 2.0b3p?
When did you take the backup? before or after the upgrade to 2.0?
First thing you should do is check your Settings.php and confirm that all of the values in there are correct. (That is usually the problem when you get that error message)
Oldiesmann:
It's working fine for me now, so it must have been a temporary problem.
