It is very, very hard work from what I have seen. They have a work ethic that is astounding and very, very gender based.

Walk up on an old line Amish house and all the women will go inside, the men will greet you. The last back porch I saw on an Amish house had half a dozen chicken heads on it. The women where cleaning chicken when I showed up. They and the chickens went inside, the offals stayed outside.

They have their own quirks and set of vices and sins. The vices and sins do not usually make it to the public, but the truth is they have and express the same temptations as the non Amish.

Still, they are an admirable group and have my respect, not so sure I could work as hard as they do.   :)
