You are raging at the wrong group. The Amish Do NOT practice polygamy. You are probably thinking of the old school Mormons. Even most Mormons do not do that today.

Amish + internet ... not so sure. In my area we have the Amish and the Mennonites. All very nice and all very clannish, so to speak. Some drive cars and some do not, depending on the sect/local leadership.

I know one group of Amish woodcrafters. All the tools are pnuematic, candles for light in the house. Payphone at the end of the driveway.  :)
