After hack: no forum to be seen
Co:
Hello people,
I'm having a serious issue with my forum. If I type its url, it's 'page not found'.
Yet it's there! I investigated a little bit and found out that:
* there was some nasty eval() base64 hack
* there were soooo many core.xxx files created at the root
* the table smf_log_errors was full (465Mo!)
I deleted all the core files, emptied the table, re-installed a 1.1.6 to be sure to have clean files, and then linked to my old database... but still nothing at all shows :( I can't even log into the admin.
Here's the link (although I doubt it's useful but...)
http://www.lagamiq.ca/forum [nofollow]
Many many thanks in advance for any hint!
Corinne

The files appear to be there, at least these two are where they should be

After you reinstalled, how did you reconnect to your old database? You may want to run repair_settings.php to make sure all paths, urls, db username, password and etc are correct first.
What is repair_settings.php?
Also, tons of corefiles are usually an indication of a server issue.

Hey busterone,
Thank you so much!
I used the repair-settings.php, it half solved the issue: there was one table to repair as well...
Now I've just got to retore theme files, attachments and stuff I guess.
Cheers!

Great news. Yes, repair_settings.php will repair the absolute path and url for the default theme only. Once you are logged in, go into admin's theme settings and repair the paths and urls for any additional themes you have installed. Admin-configuration- Themes and layout- themes and settings tab - look to the bottom of the installed themes list for - Attempt to reset all themes
look in Admin-forum-attachments and avatars-attachment settings to reset your attachments folder

Thanks again :) Everything worked like a charm. My forum is back up and happy :)
Cheers!
