Thanks for the SMF links mod, that looks like a perfect fit.
If I have SMF on a subdomain/subfolder (still deciding) would it then be forum.abc.com/linkdir to access the link directory?

The way I have links on my forum is slightly different to the mod AJ showed you.

This was done using two seperate mods.

Have you thought about using a portal?

Yes I actually have SimplePortal installed and still trying out the functionalities. I'm trying to create a directory where the community can publish their websites much like the popular dmoz.org.

Rightio in that case have a look at the pages within the portal.

I use one of johncccc s custom tab mods in conjunction with them.

Is your forum live yet?

No the forum isn't live yet but it should be in a day or two, still customizing it to the way i would like it to look. I'll post it as soon as I get it up and running.

Seems like SMF is pretty comprehensive with all the addons together.
