how to show firs post icon in index page

I wan to show first post icon in my forum index page just look like attached pics.

So not the thread starter, but the first reply is where you want the board index to grab the icon from, correct?

yes i want to show post Message icon in my index home page. first icon and poster name and subject.
just link above attached pics.

I am still not clear. The thread starter by default is able to choose the icon. You are looking to change that to the first response to the thread? Your image above doesn't show anything except the board index which doesn't show where the icon came from.
