Errors after installing Grudge's Mods

ok i went to the admin panel and installed some of grudge's mods.  However after i get some errors at the top of my page and all of the mods dont work.  Also for one of his mods it says you have to manually edit some of the files but i cant find any documentation on this anywhere.  Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing these problems?

well its a bug i think in the board itself cuz i tried to install smf again and then i installed one of his mods and had the same error, and i can never get any of them to work.

It would be useful to actually have some more information on what the problems are. Are you sure you chmod all the files correctly before installing? Is there any evidence that any of the mods actually worked? (For example, a new setting in the settings page). The only MOD that needs editing done is the shoutbox. As it says in the instructions just edit index.template.php, and put into the main_above template the line:
smfshout();
Or... if you are in an echo:
', smfshout(), '

But don't do this until you are sure you've installed it correctly otherwise you'll get more errors :)
