Question for ya's

(1/4) > >>

theoscarspot.com:
Is it against the rules to ask a YabbSE question here?

Daniel D.:
"Yes" because there is still the yabbse.org board. THIS IS SMF ! Please ask your question at www.yabbse.org.

theoscarspot.com:
Ok.  It just seems that the questions asked there these days are not being answered, becuase the writers have abandoned the site.  Being that the SMF board is not released yet.. and there are MANY people still running YabbSE, the support requirement is still there, but yet is not being met becuase everyone who used to be there... is now over here.  When the new SMF board comes out... what assurances do we have that this one will not be abandoned as well??

Jeff Lewis:
SMF support staff are in fact checking the YSE site and answering requests.

The YSE site will eventually shut down...

I certainly cannot speak for anyone else, Oscar, however, when I get a few fleeting moments, I help out, and I still watch Other Help.  If I don't know the answer to the issue, then I let someone else answer it.  If the issue's been discussed previously, I advise people to search.  If it's a special situation, that I know I can answer, I do.

The YaBB SE support board will remain open for a period of time after SMF launches, probably until we get the bulk majority of people converted over to SMF.  Eventually, the site may be archived (Do NOT quote me on this!) for those few stragglers that just refuse to upgrade.  SMF's support will happen here, and it'll be even more powerful than ever before.  Between a FAQ, a Knowledge Base, my fellow Support Specialists and I, and even Members, plus specialized/focussed help for Charter Members will help ensure that questions get answered quickly, effortlessly and in a timely manner.

I hope this puts your fears at rest, Oscar.  :)
