Trying to set a custom avatar that is to large breaks sig

-Scott:
If I try select a custom avatar that is larger than my settings and my sig has some line breaks in it,  I end up with some html br 's and a messed up signature.

Something that has always bugged me was you still don't get anything but red text to warn you that the avatar your trying to use is too large, this is really confusing the users. Shouldn't there be an error message saying that the avatar selected is too big and stating the max size allowed?
