Colo(u)r BBC tags are weird.

Is it me? Or does it just not happen?

"Of course" because the drop down stays "red" and since it puts the tags only when the selection in the drop down changes since you select again red (that is already selected) the selection (of the drop down) doesn't change and so the bbcode is not applied.

That's a WONTFIX anyway.

It works fine for me on latest Google Chrome and FF. I have this 'bug' only in latest Opera ::)

That's odd. I tried it with PaleMoon and that does the same.

Hadn't thought about it being browser-specific.
