I see two different blocks of recent posts, one in the left side (added by the portal, probably Simple Portal) and one in the footer which looks like the Advanced Recent Posts mods.

i dont realy like the one added by simple protal because it changes the style of your site

Except that the site you point out as being the one to copy, it's ACTIVELY USING SimplePortal. That sidebar and shoutbox (and recent posts block) are ALL SP blocks.

And the site looks like the basic theme with minor changes for SP.
