Can i use rss feeds in place of sitemaps for smf?
I am not sure how it works, in Google webmaster tools,
If I want google to index my forum, then I should add a robots.txt and submit a sitemap to google.
What I need to know is that if I choose rss feeds in palce of any sitemap that can be generated by a mod, should I go for it, or should i use sitemap generated by a mod and submit to google webmaster tools
Kermit:
Me is not google expert but i guess you would need to have a crawler programm for generating a sitemap,i don't think rss feed thingy would replace what sitemap does
redone:
I wouldn't even worry about a sitemap, natural traffic and people linking to your forum will improve your chances of being indexed.
Ricky.:
If you are talking about SMF, then it comes with RSS feed, you can submit it Google webmaster tool, it will help Google to find your latest comment easily but its not replacement of sitemap, sitemap has its own value, but as said, you can even live without sitemap and site will perform well..
Just check out mod area, there are mods who can generate sitemap for you.
