Topic disappeared
« on: May 13, 2012, 08:17:49 AM »
Hi guys!

I've been using SMF for quite a while now, and I do love it very much. There have been a couple of hiccups along the way, but nothing this big. I'm using SMF 2.0.

Okay, so this is what happened: I deleted two posts from smf_messages in phpmyadmin. Both messages were from the same topic, and now that particular topic doesn't show up at all in the board it should be in. I checked the mysql tables, it does exist and it's linked with the board it should show up in, it just doesn't. Also, I can access it just fine if I type in the URL.

So the topic was showing up just fine before I deleted the last two rows from smf_messages, and after that it just disappeared.

If you need any more info, please say so. If anyone could help me figure this out, it would be greatly appreciated. :)
Thanks,
straphe

Welcome to SMF,
Generally you should moderate via the tools SMF has on the page so issues are less likely to occur. Are there any more messages in the topic left other than the ones you removed?

Also, do you happen to have any modifications installed?

Goto Admin - Maintenance - Forum Maintenance - search and repair all errors

After running that tool I think you're problems are gone.

Next time delete the topics using the Admin tools and not directly in the database.
Please, don't PM me for support unless invited.
If you don't understand this, you will be blacklisted.
